Santa

I CANNOT remember to take my camera anywhere these days. Way too often this fall. My picture selection lately has been nil. In lieu of completely missing Santa pictures this year, I used my phone. Bad, fuzzy, crap pictures but here they are.

Delmont (our bustling town) light up night was the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We attended, especially because of the mild weather for a fall, near winter evening. It was really nice. The kids sang carols with the band, ate cookies, watch the tree lighting and we then went into the library for giveaways, Santa visits, more cookies and a story. The kids VERY much enjoyed speaking Santa, even Nora. However, she was terrified of him when he came around the corner on the road in his horse drawn "sleigh" [sleigh with hidden wheels - no picture - I suck!]. She cried, hard and was beside herself. She would only walk over to the sleigh when Santa walked away in order to check out the horse.

So, Nora asked for a doll castle and a Barbie. Gavin asked for Transformer Devastator and bunny slippers?!? Nora asked for a bike or a baseball for Dylan in her letter and in person to Santa. Dylan went NO WHERE near Santa.

O-H-I-O

I love this...and love it so much I think that I'll do it every year (2008)!

I have to say that Dylan was less enthusiastic this year but really only for the camera. He was right there with the big kids in the morning while they were chanting O-H-I-O and doing the signs but once I brought out the camera, he was done.

Nora was funny too when we do the whole O-H-I-O chant. She tries so hard but doesn't always make the same letter that she says. Awesome!

No Way!

Gavin recently tested for his yellow belt in Tang Soo Do. He finished his at school six week program and tested at the karate school. It was a great night. Grandmaster C.S. Kim was present to see and meet his class. He made the belt presentations and made a presentation.

In addition to his belt presentation, Gavin learned to break a board. They practiced with pads the week before and early in the evening. The two Masters held the board (hmm?) and they were coaching him. Ms. Miller was right there with him. He was not sure he could do it.

So, they had him bring his arm around in a large circle once, twice and then third time. The third time is the hit. When his hand hit the board and it broke, a look of pure shock was on his face. It lasted a few seconds and then the pride washed over his face. He is so proud and so are we.

Circus

We went to the Ring.ling Brothers circus. It was really fun. We got there in time for the pre-show that allows you to go down on the floor. You can get close and we could see some clowns and one of the elephants. The kids were mesmerized!! I think out favorite parts were the tightrope motorcycle and the elephants.
