Biker Kids

There is a picture of Gavin and Nora on Daddy's Kawasaki just before he sold it. Dylan was still a wish then. The picture hangs on the fridge and everyone loves it, including Dylan. "Look, Gavin (Ga-in) and Nora (No-wa), Mommy!" Dylan says to me.

I'll have to look for the photo file, but in the meantime, enjoy the biker kids.

Happy Zoo Day!

Solo-Mommy trip to the zoo with the kids on Good Friday! Poor Daddy had to work. It was a beautiful day, sunny, 80 degrees, awesome. Unfortunately, EVERYONE in Pittsburgh had the same idea, but it was still a successful trip. The kids were awesome. They did a great job staying together, helping out and even carried their lunches in their backpacks. We got to see lots of animals. The ones that were out were great. There were a few not on display, construction and other reasons had the snow leopard, leopard and komono dragon were off display. Even with that being true, the animals were terrific for the day.

Elephants were out and about...

Lions were roaring...

Rhino was roaming around.

And best of all, polar bears were swimming! This was a first for our Vitale family (sorry Daddy). It was totally amazing. The first one was in the water for awhile. He was still in the water when we entered the tunnel. Not long after, he got out but the other one dove in. He swam around for a long time and the whole time we were in the middle of the tunnel with a great view.

This trip was a whole new experience for Dylan. This was for many reasons. First of all - NO STROLLER! He did great. I am so glad to have kids that always want to walk. I would have had to chased kids with an empty stroller-not good. He did a great job staying together and so did the big kids. He tried to not hold hands often but in general was OK with it most of the time. I only carried him to aid in animal viewing. The kids carried their backpacks and I carried mine with supplies and the rest of the lunch stuff and water. I was so glad to be stroller free. With all of the people at the zoo, there were just as many strollers which made maneuvering in crowds harder, lines of elevator, etc. The trip was a big success!
